Below is an approximate timeline of known events in the history of the Suns of Couros Chapter.

Ancient History

~22YE
The Suns of Couros and Cantiarch’s Hold (or chapters bearing their symbols) erect the stones around the Imperial Regio in Anvil, to mark its location. The Cantiarch’s symbols point outwards, to represent their watching over the Empire. The Suns symbols point inwards, to represent their watching over all that happens inside the regio.

~60YE
The Chapter is founded by an unnamed Highborn benefactor after their life was saved by their draughir servant, Sitva. The chapter is created as somewhere Sitva and their kin can be safe among other draughir. The chapterhouse is build in Haros Water.
Over time, however, the chapter slowly changes from being of supporting draughir, to teaching them to repress their lineage and seek forgiveness in Virtue and learning.

At some point, a tradition begins within the Chapter that when a draughir began to suffer the madness of their lineage, they would voluntarily wall themselves inside a cell in the Cliff of Eyes overlooking Haros, leaving only a small gap for food to be slid through to them. Armed with a bell, these draughir would look out of the thin windows cut in the cliffs, watching for threats approaching Haros, ready to sound an alarm. Eventually, these exiles would succumb to starvation or exposure and be buried in their cells.

165YE
The Chapter Council, led by Exarch Hazirah, make a pact with the Eternal Sorin. As long as the Chapter continued the tradition of encouraging their draughir to seek salvation from madness in the Cliff of Eyes, the Tomb King would imbue the Cliff of Eyes with power, enhancing its protective effect on the town of Haros. Any draughir so walled up in the cliffs would be able to perceive threats to the chapter and town below with unnatural Vigilance. Additionally, those draughir would survive much longer than usual, allowing them to maintain their vigil despite the minimal food and water.

209YE
Much of the Suns ancient history is lost, due to Emperor Nicovar’s attempted purge of the Chapter library.

~234YE
The Suns of Couros are active, and known to General Abishai of the Thundering Tide. It is possible that the Suns are followers of the Virtue of Purity at this time (unconfirmed).

367YE
The Druj invade Reikos. Exarch Caiphas leads his coven to hold off the Druj; casting an unknown Winter ritual that drives back the Druj long enough for the defenders to fortify Haros. Caiphas sends three companions -Theudas, Jessimiel and Epher- to take news of the invasion to Bastion.

367 YE – 377YE
The Druj lay siege to Haros. Silas becomes Exarch, and begins the process of changing how the chapter functions to embrace the strengths of its draughir members.

Recent History

376YE (Winter)
The first meeting in Anvil is called after the death of Empress Britta. The chapter sends heroes to call for aid against the Druj.

377YE (Autumn)
Reikos is completely lost to the Druj. The Suns fight a three-day battle in the streets of Haros to allow time for the civilians to evacuate. The chapter regroup at the Hostel in Bastion, and the field camp in Casinea.

378YE (Spring)
The chapter return to the Cliff of Eyes and enact a ritual with Sorin’s aid to destroy the regio there, and call down Winter’s Ghosts on Reikos.

379YE (Autumn)
Reikos is recaptured from the Druj. The Reikos Flux also ravages the Empire; the Suns are instrumental in its cure.

380YE (Spring)
Nine of the Suns heroes, including Exarch Silas, are killed in battle against the Grendel at Sarvos. They become known as The Nine. Balthazar becomes Exarch.

380YE (Summer)
The Season of Mushrooms. Spring magic regenerates Reikos. The Suns retreat to the Cliff of Eyes and fortify it against the forces of Llofir. Parts of Haros are preserved through sheer force of arms. Sela becomes Exarch.

383YE (Summer)
Several members of the Chapter aid in finally pushing Llofir out of Tamarbode for good.

383YE (Winter)
The Suns of Couros invite members of the chapter and friends to meet at the Haros View wayhouse, on the Reikos-Bastion border, to celebrate the reopening of the wayhouse and the start of the Highguard Pilgrimage.

In the process, they discover the wayhouse is haunted and, in solving the ghost’s unfinished business, uncover the story of Theudas, Jesimiel, and Epher, three Chapter members who died trying to warn Highguard of the Druj invasion.

384YE (Winter)
Several members of the Chapter, as well as other trusted friends, are invited to the Library of the Lambent Sun, a small sacristy on the outskirts of the Black City in Necropolis. There they meet Calvary, a Herald of Sorin, who wishes to renegotiate the contract the Chapter agreed with the Master of Whelps in 165YE.

After much discussion, the stone contract is repaired and re-agreed with Sorin. This time, they draughir members of the chapter to make the agreement with the full understanding of the sacrifice they now make for their chapter.

385 (Spring)
The Chapter unwittingly angers the Eternal Kaela by casting three Clarion Call of Ivory and Dust rituals, stealing members of her Grim Legion. Kaela punishes the Empire in response, and the Chapter swears to never again invoke Kaela’s name or her rituals. Aemon becomes Exarch.

388YE (Summer)
Four members of the chapter are killed in Sarangrave while fighting the Druj: Exarch Aemon, Covenmaster Ahzrukhal, Raziel, and Vessara.
